For the past three months I have listened to rumor after rumor about the incident between Tiger Woods and his wife. Much of the info was delivered as legit news but struck me as nothing more than celebrity smut.
Now Tiger has released this appology that many are calling not believable and insincere. My question is why do we think we are owned an appology. Who the heck are we and why is it any of our freaking business? Hey Tiger save the sorry for the wife whom you betrayed and forget about what I or anyone else on the outside thinks!

Is Water The Cure?

This past Wednesday I felt the symptoms of the common cold hitting me square between the eyes. As the day progressed I felt my comfort declining rapidly. By night fall I found myself lying in the bed aching all over wishing for just enough relief to get some rest. Tossing and turning for hours I knew the night was going to be long with the constant pain I was feeling. After a brief talk with my maker, yeah that is Jesus in my world, I found myself begging for the comfort my body so desired. The thing that kept coming to my mind was drink more water. I started to ask is that it just drink more water. So I got out of bed and wondered down the hall and filled a big glass or water, probably 32 ounces or so, and lingered back to my resting area. As I sat on the bed side I downed the water and it was almost like my service engine turned off and the motor started idling smooth. It wasn’t a pure immediate fix but I felt 100% better than what I did moments earlier. After lying there a little longer I no longer felt the constant game of am I hot or am I cold but the aching started back little by little. So I returned for one more glass of water and all of a sudden I felt enough comfort, outside the multiple runs to the bathroom, that I now was able to lay my head and rest.

So I ask is water a natural cure? I have always heard that water increases your metabolism which in turn allows the body to do a lot of self healing. When the body is working like it should then it is able to defend off many diseases and sicknesses. Also metabolism burns fat and the water flushes the system of impurities. I have always heard people point to the ancestors and ask how did they live so long. Well maybe it is because of water. Think about it… We insulate our bodies from hot weather with air conditioning therefore less sweating and it is rare now days that people drink water with their meals. Look around and watch what the most unhealthy overweight people are drinking and I believe you will rarely find a pure glass or water. Our grandparents didn’t have the sugar filled drinks and they continuously had to drink water because they were sweating from the temperature and the lack of A/C.

That being said I am not claiming water is the end all fix all but I feel it is a critical element that is often overlooked and under utilized in my own diet.

My family is the average family of four. I have a sister who is younger than me, but no brother. I love my sister very much, but I always wondered what it would be like to have a brother. I was blessed to get to college and find a group of guys that I feel are 100% my brothers. They are men with integrity and character. They have defined for me what Brotherhood is really about. I attribute a portion of who I am to them. They are my brothers, and for that I am blessed.

Speaking of which has anyone been able to find a Ninja Sword in Gatlinburg lately? Is there really that much demand for a personal katana. My Math Trick As A Kid

I remember when I was a kid probably 2nd or 3rd grade my Uncle Henry pulled this trick on me using simple math. It astonished me so much that I was determined to figure out just how it worked. Being a natural math nerd also played into my motivation and I eventually discovered the solution to the elementary mind reading. What is the trick you might ask… Let me give you a basic example and I am sure it will be very obvious. Again, it is not to astonish an adult but you might remember similar tricks or maybe this very trick from your childhood and I invite you to share your thoughts or memories.

The Trick

Think of a number any number? If you are not good with mental math then I suggest you pick a lower number.

Now add eight to that number… Subtract three… Add four… Subtract two… Add twelve… now subtract the original number you thought of…

The number is… 19

I can’t tell you how many kids, not to mention some adults, would beg me to tell them how I knew and I would always look at them and say “I read your mind”. Yeah yeah, I know I was a nerd. NEWSFLASH – I still am

Opened My Scottrade Account Today

I am attempting to make good on my calling of GM bluff that I mentioned in an earlier post. I have no opened and funded my Scottrade acount and have my first pending order for GMGMQ which is the new stock name for GM. I have been told buy some that it is a very smart move and have been told by some in the industry that I might as well drive down the road throwing my money out the window. Well I am going with my own gut instinct on this one which is GM isn’t going anywhere long term. I don’t believe they will close the doors and I am not here for the short term. So now I am attempting to make good on my word and I have done my part by requesting the buy. Now we sit and wait to see if GM can work through their issues and make a recovery. I just can’t imagine a future with no more Corvettes…

General Motors is going to soon belong to the taxpayers. I just want to know if they will let me design automobiles. There could be a CEO position at GM in my future. I just want to know when my royalty checks will start coming. Bailout….Bailout…..Bailout…..Government Takeover……Cutting Autoworkers Benefits, Pensions, and Wages…..It sounds like a good plan to me! I don’t have all the right answers, but I’m almost sure that this answer isn’t right! My family has been a Chevrolet family since my Grandpa bought his 57 Bel Air, but I guess that may change.

Is Stephen Strasburg the next phenom?

Yesterday I was watching Sportcenter on ESPN when they showed a segment on the likely number one draft pick in the MLB for 2009. Some analyst stated that Stephen Strasburg of San Diego State Unversity is a phenom with a fastball clocking in at 103 mph. That is not a typo folks 103 miles per hour, 165.7 kilometers per hour or 151 feet per second. So how fast is that really? Well from the pitchers mound to home plate 60.5 feet which means you will have just about 0.4 seconds to see the pitch leave Stephen’s hand, determine the plane on which the ball is traveling, begin your swing and make solid contact. Yeah good luck with that…

Mr. Strasburg is merely a few months away from realizing a dream of becoming a professional pitcher and there are rumors that it might cost anywhere from thirty million to one hundred million dollars to ink this kid to a contract. Yeah that is a one followed by eight zeros. (This is where Luke chimes in) Expected to be the overall #1 pick in the MLB draft for 2009 which belongs to the Washington Nationals Stephen will soon be flinging those 103 mph fastballs for a nice payday and many analyst believe he may never dawn a minor league jersey which is rare in major league baseball.

So folks sit back and watch because you may be witnessing the next big thing as he makes his transition from student athlete to big boys play for money professional.
